Prime sent over this awesome papercraft he did of the thwomp from Super Mario Galaxy. Since my daughter is crazy about Mario or Mario-man as she calls him, we will have to make a couple of these to have spares. Here is a link so you can get the instructions to make your own.
SEGA’s now classic game Samba De Amigo which helped pioneer the music and rythm genre is getting a revamp for the Nintendo Wii. Samba De Amigo will play by shaking the Wii-mote and nunchuck in rythm with the onscreen prompts. There will be new songs as well as songs from the original Dreamcast version.
Playing as the grinning, sombrero-topped monkey, Amigo, players shake the Wii Remote™ and Nunchuk™ like maracas, in time with the visual beats of the music on-screen. The perfect party game, Samba De Amigo is packed with lively stages and a host of colourful characters. More details about this exciting new title including a full song listing as well as new special features will be revealed over the next few months.
It is interesting to see Nintendo getting into the spirit of hosting so many launch events at the Nintendo World Store in New York. I am really interested in trying out the Naruto game for the Wii but I wish it had online multiplayer. Nobody at my place will fight me since the whole Dragonball Z BT2 massacre. The press release after the jump.

New York, NY 10020
NEW YORK – October 22, 2007 – On October 27th, the world’s hungriest competitive eaters will gather for the first-ever NARUTO™ Clash of Ninja™ Revolution World Ramen Noodle Eating Championship, the culmination of a multi-faceted launch event for the new Wii™ video game. Major League Eating have initiated a mandatory chopsticks rule for the competition, in keeping with the traditional method of consuming ramen.
The contest will feature not merely an all-star cast of competitive eaters, but a virtual cornucopia of interesting characters to boot. Nipping at Janus’ heels will be his roommate and training partner, Crazy Legs Conti, a man who once ate his way out of an 96-cubic foot box of popcorn, earning the nickname, “the Evel Knievel of the Alimentary Canal.” Arturo “Grande” Rios, the 13th-ranked pigs’ feet-eating champ from New Jersey, will be fending off best friend duo Eric “Steakbellie” Livingston and Micah “Wing Kong” Collins, as well as 18th-ranked Justin Mih, a Harvard graduate student and chopstick specialist. Lunar Pool® (NES®, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): Lunar Pool takes the historical game of billiards and reinvents it with a unique and futuristic flair. The rules are simple: All you need to do is use your cue stick to hit the white cue ball, causing it to hit the other numbered balls and make them go into the pockets. You can enjoy nearly unlimited game play with 30 tables, two different ball arrangements, and the ability to change the degree of friction on the table. You can play against a computer or another human player, so try challenging someone once you’ve got the hang of the game.
Ninja JaJaMaru-kun® (NES®, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 600 Wii Points): Take on the role of a ninja called JaJaMaru and rescue the captured Princess Sakura from the evil Namazu Dayuu in this action-packed game, previously unreleased outside of Japan. JaJaMaru must use his throwing stars to defeat the monsters lurking in each of Dayuu’s many hideouts. JaJaMaru has to be careful though, as each monster has its own unique weapon and method of attacking. The only way for him to advance is to break the floor bricks above him and move up and down between the levels of each round, defeating monsters as he goes. To help him, broken bricks sometimes reveal items that JaJaMaru can use to his advantage, possibly leading to the ultimate power-up: a ride on Gamapakun, the giant frog. Throw in some bonus stages and you’ve got a game with a style all its own.
Golden Axe™ III (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, Rated E10+ for Fantasy Violence, 800 Wii Points): The once-peaceful kingdom so familiar to fans of the original Golden Axe is under threat once again. The Prince of Darkness has stolen the invaluable Golden Axe, taken over the kingdom and rendered its warriors harmless with an evil curse. One warrior breaks free from the curse and must defeat the prince and regain the Golden Axe to save the kingdom. In this one- or two-player action game, play as a giant, a panther or a sword-wielding human and fight your way to victory once again.
Here are some scans from Famitsu for the Upcoming FFCC: The Small King and the Promised Land that is coming to the Nintendo WiiWare service. This title is looking very promising and lets hope more developers, big and small will be making games for the Nintendo WiiWare.
While the fire flower has been MIA from the console Mario game since the SNES and I am glad that it is back. It gives me the warm fuzzes just to think about throwing a fireball at a goomba again but this time in 3D and now I only have to wait about a month until launch.
Okami is coming home to the Nintendo Wii after countless rumors and speculation. During Capcom’s Gamer Day in London it seems that Okami for the Wii has been announced but the detail are still under embargo. This being ported to the Wii is really a no brainier after you consider how this game plays out with the help of a writing utensil. Lets hope that this also means that we will get a few updates for the game like 16:9 and 480p support and maybe some scrapped features or side missions. Look for more info inthe coming weeks.
