Bonjour, madame et monsieur. C`est le 21 Decembre. I can tell you that I’m excited. At the moment, the memorization section of my brain is getting the biggest work out. I’ve learned to count to one hundred, days, months, the different forms of etre (a basic verb, ie to be) and its placement, basic greetings, and basic colors of the rainbow.
Yeah, I though that I would be the only one learning French and putting a cold to good use (haaack!). That was until during one of my sessions slowly pronouncing the words into the microphone for playback, I heard Faye repeating the words as well with perfect pronunciation on most and a slight accent. So now as we go through our day we count our fingers in French and English, tell colors in F&E, and recite the day’s lessons in the car. Even though she has no idea what I’m saying, what few sentences I can say I say to her, to which she will usually always reply, “Trois, deux, six, dix, cing!”. In true toddler-learning-numbers form that’s 3, 2, 6, 10, 5. The mini games combined with the almost-three-year-old have made the lessons move smoothly from short term to long term memory.
So here is my biggest suggestion for learning a new language, find a two-year-old and talk their ear off. Just don’t be surprised if the two-year-old surpasses you, they’re like little language sponges.
Knowing that you are not yet tired of the Portal’s ending theme “Still Alive”. Frag Doll, Kitt has decided to do her own rendition of the song using Jam Sessions for the DS. She claims to have no musical talent but she does a decent job and has re-peaked my interest in Jam Sessions again.
Power Pros finally made it here on the PS2 and Wii as MLB Power Pros and I hope they continue the tradition for the newest entry for the DS. While I’m not a huge fan of baseball games MLB Power Pros is the first one I rushed out to buy.It is has a certain appeal and the RPG like carrer mode made it a must have for me. Lets hope this one makes it here so I can challenge you guys to matches over Nintendo WFC.
While I am a huge fan of the Ace Attorney, I didn’t think that I would get a chance to see Apollo Justice make it over to North America. But to my surprise it has and once again let the courtroom bout begin again. Press release to follow.
The latest installment in the highly popular courtroom drama series, Apollo JusticeTM: Ace AttorneyTM sees the introduction of a brand-new lead character and a new chapter for the franchise that has sold over 2 million copies worldwide.
Players star as rookie defense attorney Apollo Justice as he visits crime scenes, questions key witnesses and collects vital evidence before stepping into the courtroom to prove his clients’ innocence. Facing Apollo across the courtroom is the highly talented and flamboyant prosecutor Klavier Gavin who, in addition to being a legal genius, is also lead singer with Gavinners, a highly successful rock band with a string of hits to their name.
He may be young and inexperienced but Apollo’s confident manner and passion, coupled with his unique ability to uncover witnesses’ lies by studying their body language, will prove invaluable assets in the courtroom as he pleads the case for the defense. Thankfully, Apollo is not alone and is aided both in and out of the courtroom by his assistant Trucy, a mysterious female magician. Apollo also receives invaluable advice from his mentor the ultra-cool Kristoph Gavin, elder brother of Klavier, whose perfect logic and natural instincts have won him numerous cases and the respect of his colleagues.
The Tales team is going another step with Tales of Innocence by adding the option to play thru with regular models or play thru with an outlined model to give a cel shaded feel. Since I enjoy the look of Tales of Symphonia outlined will be the way I will be playing this one. This should be enough to have all Tales fans satisfied with the upcoming DS title and I hope this one makes it to North America.
Lifesigns: Surgical Unit is finally coming out on the Nintendo DS and now is the time to brush up on your medical skills. We have been very interested in playing Lifesigns since it launch in Japan with the DS and I guess Ttoes will be making with her JD and Turk impressions. Full press release after the jump.
While this one is a bit late, I am feeling much better now and back in the saddle for the long haul of playing games for YOU, our readers. What will I be playing you ask, well there are a few titles that we are currently working on these days.
MLB Power Pro for the Nintendo Wii was one that we finally just pick-up along with Zack and Wiki both on the Wii. But I am also still braving the dark hour almost every night and trying to finish up Persona 3 with about 80 hours clocked in and Ttoes has gone ship part crazy in Phantom Hourglass and won’t finish until she has “Caught them All” found all of the parts. Have a great weekend!
While I like the Kingdom Hearts franchise I am bit on the fence with the next set of installments. I feel like it may be a little to much too fast with a game coming out on the DS, PSP and Mobile. It looks like I will have towait until more concrete gameplay footage and hand-on previews for the Kingdom Heart games until I make my decision.
The holiday season is starting and games are beginning to come out faster and faster. Will this week’s offerings be worth your hard earned cash?
