If you made a preorder for Grand Theft Auto IV at any GameStop, you may consider camping out in front of the store. While you’re at it, wear a T-shirt that says “new blood”. Kotaku was leaked a letter from GameStop corporate to GameStop stores stating that the stores were to place more emphasis on getting the pre-ordered GTA IV games out to walk-in customers than to the pre-order customers. Cash monies and prizes to the store and DM that raised the bar on the walk-in sales goal.
They hope to attract new customers by having the game available for them immediately… uh, duh, what about the loyal pre-ordering customers? You know, the ones who consistently give you their money, and, uh… PRE-ORDERED?
In related news, Amazon.com is expected to see overwhelming amounts of pre-orders for Ninja Gaiden 2.
