While I’m not a huge fan of baseball games MLB Power Pros is the first one I rushed out to buy.It is has a certain appeal and the RPG like carrer mode made it a must have for me. Review: Assassin’s Creed Xbox 360

Review Banner

While we have been very busy over the last week, I still took the time out of my day to read a bit on the Assassin’s Creed reviews. While I will admit the game has a few bugs like the one pictured below, but it is nowhere near the terrible experience that most reviewers are giving it.

Assassin Bug

I haven’t finished Assassin’s Creed yet and I think I am far enough into it to say that we are pretty addicted to it. The storyline is intriguing and the mission are opening enough to allow me to do my own thing if I want to. So if beating up old man Jenkins isn’t your thing why not eavesdrop on someone’s conversation or pickpocket them for useful data.

Cities in Assassin’s Creed are open and beautifully detail to allow you to climb to every nook and cranny. You will notice a lot of the architecture of the buildings actually pops out from the structures so you can use it to climb around the town. Within all of these wall consist of a few extras or scavenger hunt objectives like capturing all of the flags for that district, slaying hidden Templar Knights, and getting to the high up view points to scope out the town.

Assassin’s Creed SS

Gameplay is very fluid and uses 2 controls schemes together to perform all of your actions. First you have the low profile moves such as gently pushing people away or blending into the crowds so the guards don’t become suspicious of you. Next you have you high profile actions sprinting, tackling and jumping which allow you to get out of a jam if you are spotted and control the crowd while escaping. Now I didn’t talk to much about the fighting just because it is a little different than you would expect since this is stealthy Altair, but but has got warrior moves. When I hear most of my friends reactions to stealth the first thing I always hear is “You have to hide and wait, since you can’t just run out and finish everybody”. While most of the time that is true, Altair is different. He can not only take on multiple enemies with a bunch of different weapons, but he also can take down a small army if you have the timing and skill to do so.

But as most of you know my big make or break for a game is music. Assassin’s Creed score is impressive and fits the time periods very well and best of all no Godsmack. While I do have to admit some of the voice acting is a little funny in the game but other than that fit in nicely to break up the story.

I highly recommend that you try it out. You may be surprised to find that this is a game worth you time.

No More Heroes Preview Event

It seems that Famitsu has given their judgment on No More Heroes 9/8/8/9. Now I really can’t wait till February when it gets release here by Ubisoft.

Deus Ex 3 Debut Trailer

Being a Deus Ex nut this actually caught me off guard. It was previously announced but I never though anything would actually come of it. Now here is hoping that they can do it without Warren Spector.

Dokodemo Pilates Breaks Out with the Healthy… but only for Japan

There are already loads things on my list, most being the multitude of learning games available only in Japan, the others being food related. Here is the latest addition added because the chill of winter in Texas (leave me alone snow bunnies, I’ve adapted) has made me too slothful to drag my lazy butt to the gym. Konami’s Dokodemo Pilates for the Nintendo DS is obviously only available in Japan… for now. It runs you through exercises from beginner to expert with a 3d “trainer” to show you how it’s done.

Wii-kly Update - New Games Added to Shop Channel

DOUBLE DRIBBLE™ (NES®, 1-2 players, rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): DOUBLE DRIBBLE, the first 5-on-5, full-court home basketball game, is pure hoops action at its finest. While still a surprisingly accurate basketball game for its time, the frantic action keeps you on your toes as your players run from one end of the court to the other. Choose from a handful of teams and multiple levels of difficulty as you take on the computer alone or challenge a friend and see who has the better skills. Take the ball and sink shots from locations all over the court, or get in your opponent’s face and do your best to block the shot. Better yet, drive the lane and rock the rim to see one of the game’s trademark slam-dunk cut scenes. He shoots, he scores!

Vegas Stakes™ (Super NES®, 1-4 players, rated E for Everyone – Simulated Gambling, 800 Wii Points): Feel like taking a road trip to Las Vegas? Let your inner high roller go wild as you try your luck at five different games-blackjack, slots, poker, craps and roulette. Start with only $1,000 in your pocket and play your way through five casinos, each with a different theme and varying limits. But no one wants to gamble alone, right? Not a problem, as you’ll be able to choose one of four friends to tag along and offer advice when you need it. Further enhancing the experience is the fact that you’ll be presented with a slew of interactions with random casino patrons. Best be careful, though-your choices in these situations could either get you closer to the millions of dollars you’re after or cost you a pile of that hard-earned cash. Roll the dice, spin the wheel, hit or stand-do whatever it takes to stake your claim in Vegas and beat the house!

Ecco Jr.™ (Sega Genesis, 1 player, rated E for Everyone, 800 Wii Points): The aquatic adventures of Ecco come to life for a younger generation of gamers. Perfect for kids, Ecco Jr. finds our young hero heading out to sea with a variety of tasks he must perform in order to get there. Along with his friends Tara the baby orca and Kitnee the young Atlantic dolphin, Ecco Jr. will interact with sea lions, sea horses and other aquatic life as he makes his journey to the Big Blue. Introduce your kids to the classic series of Ecco the Dolphin titles by downloading Ecco Jr. today.
