Descend into the gothic Sci-Fi world of Lunar Knights and take control of two warriors on a quest to reclaim the world from the vampiric legion. Spin together tornados, guide down flaming meteors, and blow together snowstorms in Kojima Productions first ever title on Nintendo DS®!
[Lunar Knights features]
-Two different heroes with unique powers and weapons
-In-game day/night cycle and weather affects gameplay
-Use the touch pen to solve puzzles and guide your vehicle through 3D shooter mini games
-From the renowned design studio Kojima Productions
~ from Konami Official Site

Produced by Hideo Kojima, Lunar Knights may prove to be a DS game I finish! (Not that DS games aren’t fun, none have really been able hold my attention too long. ::cough:: Princess Peach::cough::.)
You play as two vampire hunters who, along with their familiars, battle the beasties or Dark Tribe to set balance back to the world. You do this by using the characters to their full advantage, meaning real time in battle switch outs! You are also given various weapons with their own advantages such as a gun that shoots around corners, massive claws, and a flamethrower (which I hear are all the rage in vampire hunter couture!).
Watch for my review as this WILL be landing in my list of games played.

Assassins Creed… just making the wait worse

Since learning that Assassins Creed is going to be made for the Xbox360, the horrible need for a PS3 has been completely diminished. Now the only thorn in my side these days is… the wait! Yes, that long wait until its release in April 2007; which I will now make worse by showing these stunning concept works for the game. I know what you are thinking… why aren’t you showing screenshots? Well, this is because as with most games, what is shown to hook you in is screenshots. Since you already know that the screenshots are amazing, I am giving a much deserved KUDOS to the concept artists who worked on the game.
Kudos my fellow artists. K-U-D-O-S.

Buying Vista? Get a Guarantee.

Right after I posted the information on the Vista launch I ran across this article at Cnet about “Buying Vista?, Get a Guarantee”.

Customers who pay about $233 for an upgrade copy of Vista Ultimate (or about $399 for the full version), for instance, could essentially end up running the equivalent of Vista Home Basic ($100 to $199) if Vista’s installation software finds that the computer doesn’t have the hardware to run specific Ultimate features optimally, Cherry said.

Windows Vista

Starting today the new Windows OS will be available to the public in a couple of different version starting from home basic to ultimate editions of Vista. Microsoft has put together a couple of different tools to help you see which version of their OS will run properly on your machine. I haven’t got a chance yet to test drive Vista so if you got a copy or attended a launch event give us your feedback.

Spectrobes Press Release

BURBANK, Calif. – (January 25, 2007) – “Spectrobes,” Disney’s eagerly awaited video game for the Nintendo DS, will not only take players on a captivating action-filled intergalactic journey, but will also introduce innovative new gameplay features designed specifically for the platform. Disney today announced that “Spectrobes” will include a unique code input card system, local wireless gameplay, Nintendo Wi-Fi downloadable content and a compatible online community.

For the first time on the Nintendo DS, players will be able to use collectible trading cards to unlock additional content within the game using the touch screen. In addition, players will be able to download content via a Wi-Fi connection; play together locally using a wireless connection; and take advantage of online community features to extend the “Spectrobes” experience beyond the game.

“With all of its innovative features on the Nintendo DS, ‘Spectrobes’ delivers the type of engaging experience fans of action role-playing games are looking for,” said Craig Relyea, vice president of marketing, Buena Vista Games. “Following in the footsteps of ‘Kingdom Hearts,’ ‘Spectrobes’ is another uniquely original game franchise that is rich in story, characters and unique gameplay features.

The game features two junior Planetary Patrol officers named Rallen and Jeena who must save the galaxy by awakening, training and collecting prehistoric creatures called Spectrobes. These creatures hold the key to defeating merciless enemies known as the Krawl. “Spectrobes” fully utilizes aspects of the Nintendo DS, such as its revolutionary touch screen and microphone, through creative gameplay that includes excavating and awakening dormant creatures with the stylus and voice commands.

Included in each “Spectrobes” game is a pack of four translucent lenticular code input cards, perfect for collecting and trading. Once players unlock the special ability in the game, they can fit a code input card over the Nintendo DS touch screen and use the stylus to consecutively tap numerical holes in the cards, unlocking new content, which includes creatures and minerals. Along with inclusion in game packages, additional trading cards will be available after the game’s release.

Once awakened and trained, Spectrobes are powerful creatures that can be used by Rallen to battle against the Krawl or other players and their creatures locally via wireless gameplay. Players can enter a one-on-one battle with a friend or participate in an organized tournament for up to 16 players.

Players can also earn the ability to download content such as videos, creatures, custom parts and minerals through a Wi-Fi connection. Also, once connected to the Internet, the Nintendo DS will generate a personal planetary patrol badge number that can be synchronized to each player’s profile page on the Spectrobes web site. Once connected to their game results, players’ profiles will include information about their Spectrobes creatures, armor and weapons. In addition, a leader board on the web site will track the top scores from several special sequence battles in the game, allowing players to show their success to a global audience.

Developed by Kyoto, Japan-based Jupiter Corporation, “Spectrobes” will be available worldwide on March 13, 2007. “Spectrobes” is rated E for Everyone by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) and will have a suggested retail price of $29.99.

Etrian Odyssey

I have been really interested in this title for awhile and Siliconera has an early preview of the import copy of Etrian Odyssey.

Sekaiju no Keikyuu - coming to the states later this year as “Etrian Odyssey” - is not an innovative title, but it is pretty far removed from the current RPG climate. After a short introductory text scroll, the first thing you do is enter the adventurer’s guild and create your characters.

Final Fantasy XIII Confirmed for 2008

Here is a section of the article from PSU.

In a recent interview, Nomura confirmed to the Famitsu gaming magazine that Final Fantasy XIII won’t be coming out in 2007, and that the new release date is set for 2008. The most simple explanation is that they still have some other projects to finish before being able to fully focus on Final Fantasy XIII.

The two of them state that they will get the job done in just three minutes. However, little do they know that each building is packed with security guards who will raise the alarm if they are caught red-handed. Fortunately both Mobo and Robo are equipped with bullets that can knock the guards unconscious for a few seconds. A huge reward will be given out if Mobo and Robo are apprehended. Help the infamous Bonanza Bros. infiltrate a number of different locations ranging from banks to mansions to casinos, and don’t get caught.

Comix Zone™ (Sega Genesis, 1 player, 800 Wii Points): Sketch Turner is an artist in New York City. One day while Sketch is drawing, a huge thunderstorm strikes the city. A bolt of lightning hits Sketch’s image and brings it to life. That image is Mortus, a megalomaniacal mutant who wants to become real and rule the earth. Mortus magically transports Sketch into the pages of his comic book so that he can end his creator’s life and become real. Inside the comic book, Sketch meets General Alissa Cyan, who believes he is a superhero that came to save their post-apocalyptic world from the evil brought by Mortus’s hand. Now that he’s a comic book superhero, Sketch can really put the hurt on the bad guys. Instantly, Sketch can fight like a one-man mercenary platoon.
